The Indian National Science Academy (Formerly National Institute Of Science Of India) was started in the year 1935 at Calcutta and in 1951 it was shifted to Delhi. The main objective of the academy is to promote the scientific knowledge in India including its practical application to problems of national welfare and to coordinate among Scientific Academies, Societies, Institutions, Government Scientific Departments and Services.
