The Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc) was established in the year 1962 and it is located at Chennai. It is the national institution which promotes fundamental research in frontier disciplines of the mathematical and physical sciences. Around a hundred researchers, including faculty members, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students, are members of the Institute at any given time.

Qualification: Masters degree in Hindi/ English with English/ Hindi as main subject/ Master degree in any subject with Hindi and English as main subject at degree level/ Master degree in any subject with Hindi/ English medium and Hindi/ English as main subject at degree level/ Masters degree in Hindi/ English or any other subject with Hindi/ English as medium with English/ Hindi as main subject at or as medium of examination at degree level.
