Council of Scientific & Industrial Research [CSIR] was established in 1942, is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. CSIR has 37 state-of-art National laboratories/ Institutes, 6 units and 38 centres. It is amongst the foremost scientific and industrial research setups in the world. SIR covers practically the entire spectrum of scientific and industrial R&D of national and international importance.
